Car Audio Amplifier Tunning : RMS Test and Gain setting for Sub Woofer with DMM
car electronics audio
DOWNLOAD CHART : copy “assets.pakwheels.com and paste on address bar By this method you can determine RMS as well as can set gain of amplifier of your driver easily for subwoofer you will need to play 50hz test tone and for speakers/components you will need to play 1khz test tone , All tones are avaliable in www.realmofexcursion.com , by this method , you can predict unclipped signals by looking up Fuse rating and voltage input so that you can get max power and take voltage from DMM then look up in chart tip if voltage goes above the (calculated power of Voltage and Ampere) then it clearly clipped , the max power u are getting (in volts then u look up in chart) should be less then calculated power = Voltage X Current formula http

Omair,
I had my Sony CDX 640UI with all the extras off. LPF only goes to 80Hz, HPF was off. All deck EQ is flat.
i have a 50hz tone playing via cd.
My alpine MRV1005 has the gain all the way down and i have an EQ on it. does that need to be off as well? I am guessing so.
but i have the volume upto 75% and the multimeter doesnt even register anything till I almost have the gain full blast.
What did I miss?
Thanks
hey bro
i have a pioneer GM-7200M mono block. it has 360 watts at 2 ohms of continuous power and 250 at 4 ohms. I have a Pioneer sub aswell at 400w rms.
Would you be able to help me calculate the DMM?
would be greatly appreciated
@allstarbayb
do same i have done ,
for 250wrms @ 4 ohms
31.5volts is the numbers because
31.5^2 volts / 4ohms = 248wats
VOLTAGE X Voltage / 4 ohms impedence
thanks brooo
helped heappss.. the man
@allstarbayb
good to hear this , i onyly doubt about my english during record , which i dont think so people may understand my crappy english
, but now confidence buildup more , hope if i record new video , i will speak much better
How am I suppose to turn it up at 75% of the volume without blowing my speakers? Do I just turn the bass level all the way, which would be like -6?
hey man i need you help i have a device that boosts my preamp output to 8 volts and my kicker 750.1 input is on 5 volts max would you happen to know how i balance the to out?
also when you had tune you gain did you take out the wire from your door speaker?
yes i disconnected speakers wire on 1khz tone
set to 5v sensivity ,
set same voltage that makes same rms @ 4 ohms
like if 400Wrms then
40v x 40v / 4 ohms = 400wrms
sorry i for got to tell you take i have my sub wired to 2 ohms and my amp is way under watts i have a 15″ L7 kicker
what do you mean you disconnected the speaker wires on 1khz tone?
during gain test/tunning , its necessary to hook out all drivers
how much your amplfier gives at 4 ohms load
375 at 4 ohms and 750 at 2 ohms
@turbo1234a
set the voltage at 39v , donot cross above it , you will automatically get 750Wrms @ 2 ohms
we always set gains @ 4 ohms
its universal way
Thank you, your the best explained one.
hey man i was wondering if i have a line drive that is connected to my head unit to boost the signal to my kicker amp to 8 volt input…how would you tune the gain and bass knob on my amp and what reading on the volt meter should i look for
also how come on this video you only adjust the gain knob…..how come you don’t adjust the bass knob also?
@turbo1234a
my gain current amplfier gain`s sensivity lies between from
5v to 0.2v and i have 4v prevolts headunit
so i turn up to 3.5v in order to get all power below 75% of volume
volume = 75%
gain sensivity = 4v , HU volts = 4v
volume = 50% > above clipping will occur
gain sensivity = 2v, HU volts = 4v
volume = 25% > above this volume clipping will occur
gain sensivity = 1v, HU = 4v
volume = 10% > above this volume clipping will occur
gain sensivity = 0.2~0.1v , HU=4v
@turbo1234a
turn down the gain to least
then check volts be multimeter on woofer`s output level
you can even reduce bass from the help of headunit , in order to reduce Pre volts at specific volume
so the bass knob on your amp your not using it your only just ing the gain?
@turbo1234a
i wasnt using bass bass from amplifier
just only gain , bass boost give a little performance at specific frequency like 40hz , 45hz etc depends upon amplifier specs
but it produce clipping in a signal , this is why i stay away from bass boost from amplifeir
just from headunit , not more then level 3
@omairgeforce Your accent is very strong. If you try to speak slower it will be easier to understand. Had to watch it a couple time but I can hear you. Good info and thanks
@bl4h1 correct man , i am now good at english , i have hesitation peoblem
thats ruin this video , !!
hope when i will make similar , improved version of this video ,you will find me with some good and clear voice
